50.002 Zeuzera pyrina (Leopard Moth)
ws: m:46-58mm, f:60-78mm, fw:22-35mm; Jun-Aug; many woody plants; common in most of England and E.Wales
Note that the venation of the hindwing of specimen §2 has a vein between V4&5 which is not shown in the illustration in MBGBI2 (p71, fig45). Both §2 and §4 have 10 veins reaching the hindwing margin, while the illustration in MBGBI2 has 9. It seems clear to me that the illustration is incorrect and that the numbering of the veins is therefore problematic. In the forewing the illustration shows V10,11&12 to be very close together but separate, in §2 and §4 these 3 veins seem to be confluent (venation of §1 & §3 was not examined).
