70.266 Alcis jubata (Dotted Carpet)
fw: 13-16mm; Jun-Sep; beard lichen (Usnea spp); local in mature broadleaved and coniferous woodland in SW.England, Northumberland, W.Wales and Scotland
ID: Characterised by conspicuous central black dots on a white ground colour; fine 3rd (post-median) cross-line strongly angled as it approaches both costa and dorsum (though this line is largely obsolete in §1 and §2). Aethalura punctulata (Grey Birch) is similar but has a grey rather than white ground colour and lacks conspicuous central spots.
