37.018 Coleophora hydrolapathella (Water-dock Case-bearer)
ws: 12-13.5mm; Jul-Aug; water dock (Rumex hydrolapathum); pRDB locally in Norfolk broads and marshes near sea in Suffolk
ID: Group C - Plain forewing with a pale costa; antenna not ringed in apical portion
Female genitalia: Subgenital plate (SGP) elongate; posterior margin of SGP notched to >1/2 its length; introitus vaginae not sclerotised.
The female genitalia are not shown at Dissection Group and only the ovipositor and posterior ductus bursae are drawn in MBGBI3 (67b). The drawing in MBGBI3 shows the apophyses anteriores extending beyond the SGP for a distance shorter than the SGP. §1 shows longer apophyses anteriores than this. The bursa copulatrix of §1 lacks a signum, a feature shared only with C.coracipennella and C.hemerobiella both of which can be easily excluded on external features.
