Subfamily: Olethreutinae
Tribe: Olethreutini (13G[1EX] 38S[2EX])
These are the 'Olethreutidii' of Pierce and Metcalfe, characterised by the signa as 2 scobinate patches, though sometimes absent (2 thorns in Eudemis); the ostium is strong with a large plate. In the male: valvae long; uncus developed, weak (absent in Eudemis); socii large, drooping.
Bactra, considered with the 'Olethreutidii', is now placed in a separate tribe (Bactrini) on the basis of its highly developed uncus.
Endothenia, considered with the 'Olethreutidii' within the genus Argyroploce, is now placed in a separate tribe (Endotheniini). The rationale for this is probably its well-developed, characteristically shaped uncus and the single characteristically shaped signum.
