49.086 Acleris logiana (White Birch Tortrix)
ws: 18-22mm; bivoltine in England Jun-Aug, Sep and overwintering, univoltine in Scotland Sep-Apr (overwintering as the adult); birch (Betula spp); NS-B patchily throughout GB
Synonym: Peronea niveana (Pierce & Metclafe)

ID: Forewing ground colour whitish. Three named forms: logiana - indistinctly marked, proximal margin of median fascia demarcated by a line of dark raised scales; tripunctana - similar but with a costal blotch of 3 fuscous-black patches; scotana - with diffuse orange-brown streaks.
Form tripunctana is similar to the summer generation of A.kochiella which is generally more strongly marked and averages smaller (fw 7-9mm)
Male genitalia: Socii fairly long; 3 moderate cornuti. In A.kochiella the socii are very short and there are 5 or 6 slender cornuti.
