ID: Obscurely marked and variable, generally dark with extensive purplish-plumbeous suffusion and a brown head, thorax and tegulae.
Grapholita janthinana is similar but averages smaller (ws 9-11mm) and has an ochreous-yellow terminal band on the forewing.
Male genitalia: both the costa and ventral margin of the valva are shallowly concave; aedeagus sigmoid.
