Head with vertex and frons smooth; scape with slight pecten; S3 of labial palp as long as or equal to S2, pointed, ascending; maxillary palp 3/4 length of S2 of labial palp; foretibia slightly thickened, midtibia and midfemur strongly thickened, hindtibia smooth, slender; hindtarsus 1.5–2x length of hindtibia; hindwing 1/2–3/4 width of forewing, cilia 3x width of wing. Most species overwinter as adult.
