49.225 Spilonota laricana (Larch Bud Moth)
ws: 12-16mm; Jul-Aug; larch (Larix decidua); local in woodland with larch in England & Wales

Can be very similar to S.ocellana. Specimens with an ochreous tinge to the ground colour should be S.ocellana. Otherwise, genital dissection is required to separate these two species, and at this stage I am not confident that the female genitalia of these two species can be distinguished.
Male genitalia: Cucullus short and rounded (breadth:length ratio >=0.68); neck relatively broad; ventral margin of valva not particularly angular
