ws: 4.5 - 6.0mm; bivoltine May-Jun, Aug-Sep; oaks (Quercus robur / petraea); probably occurs throughout GB wherever there are oaks
ID: Forewing without pale markings; terminal cilia of forewing concolorous with wing; head black; hindwing with androconial scales in cilia; androconial scales 2/3 length of cilia > male S.atricapitella
In fact I thought the androconial scales were almost as long as the cilia in §1, but the key distinction is with S.ruficapitella in which they are 1/3 the length of the cilia.
Females have an ochreous frons, white collar and the hindwing lacks androconial scales
