ws: 10-13mm (BTM), fw: 5-6mm (Sterling & Parsons); May-Jul; buckthorn (Rhamnus catharticus), alder buckthorn (Frangula alnus); NS-B S.England
ID: Orange with a whitish diagonal median line from the costa at ~½ to the dorsum at ~⅔; a plumbeous patch along the distal margin of the dorsum around the tornus between the median line and the termen; white costal strigulae, those in the apical ⅖ giving rise to plumbeous striae; ocellus with a series of black and plumbeous streaks; an orange patch in the apical half of the forewing, with a rounded dorsal edge is ±isolated by the medial line, distal dorsal patch, ocellus and the proximal costal strigula.
