73.121 Gortyna flavago (Frosted Orange)
ws: 32-42mm (MBGBI10), fw: 16-19mm (Waring & Townsend); Aug-Oct; various herbaceous plants; common in England, Wales and S&E Scotland.
ID: Antenna: male - ciliate, female - simple. Forewing orange with brown subbasal and subterminal fasciae, the latter bordered proximally by a brown postmedian crossline; veins lined brown, stigmata outlined brown. G.borelii (Fisher’s Estuarine Moth) is somewhat similar but larger (fw: 21-24mm), has a slightly scalloped forewing termen and whitish stigmata.
