ID: Relatively large 'pebble-like' central spot on forewing; purplish-brown blotch on termen towards apex; rests with wings flat. In ssp falcataria the forewing is orange and the hindwing contrastingly paler orange. In ssp scotica both wings are straw-white. Ssp scotica is unlikely to be confused with any other species but ssp falcataria is similar to D.curvatula (Dusky Hook-tip) which is distinguished by its small central forewing spots and a strong postmedian line on the hindwing.
