fw: 9-11mm; May-Jul; field maple (Acer campestre), sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus), alder (Alnus glutinosa); common in most of England and Wales, more local in
N.England and Scotland.
ID: Straw yellow with irregular cross-lines; small central black spot. Somewhat similar to Euchoeca nebulata (Dingy Shell), which rests with its wings closed and has chequered fringes.
