15.0201 Dialectica scalariella (Echium Leaf-miner)
ws: 9-11mm; Aug-Sep?; leaf mine in Echium spp; status uncertain; 2 British records
At the time of writing this species is listed in Appendix A (adventive species) of the RES checklist following the only previous British record (Kingsdown, Kent, September 2004). This specimen was obtained at a time of substantial migrant activity and Echium species grow freely on the Isles of Scilly - either way it seems to me that this species should be advanced to the main list. I have confirmed with David Agassiz that it will be.
In 2022 this species was raised from mines on Echium at Dungeness.
