ws: 6-8mm; bivoltine May, Jul-Aug; hornbeam (Carpinus betulus); locally common in SE.England.
ID: Group A: Forewing with sufficient white colour that the strigulae appear as dark markings on a pale background; no dark basal fascia (excludes P.roboris) or basal streak (excludes P.heegeriella); white parts not sprinkled with dark scales (excludes P.comparella & P.sagitella); C1D1 meet or almost meet to form an acute angled fascia (excludes P.kuhlweiniella, P.acerifoliella, P.platanoidella); C1D1 very narrow, represented by just the dark edge (excludes P.geniculella); 4C > P.tenerella. (and excludes P.harrisella which has 3C).
