74.009 Nycteola revayana (Oak Nycteoline)
fw: 11-13mm; Jul-Jun, possibly bivoltine in south, overwinters as adult; pedunculate oak (Quercus robur); local in broadleaved woodland throughout GB.
ID: Recognized more by its size and shape with a strongly ‘shouldered’ forewing costa than by the extremely variable forewing pattern. May be confused with Acleris species (Family: Tortricidae) which are slimmer and usually smaller - A.cristana has a central forewing scale-tuft, A.hastiana has much shorter labial palps.
