ws: 14-16mm; bivoltine overlapping May - Aug; Bog-myrtle (Myrica gale), sallows (Salix spp) and birch (Betula spp); mostly mosses and damp heaths in N.England and Scotland, less common in S.England
Synonyms: Olethreutes atropunctana (Pierce & Metcalfe), Metendothenia atropunctana
Synonyms: Olethreutes atropunctana (Pierce & Metcalfe), Metendothenia atropunctana
ID: Similar to Hedya pruniana/nubiferana/ochrocleucana but averages smaller than these species and is characterised by the large black spot distal to the median fascia.
