62.033 Acrobasis tumidana (Tufted Oak Knot-horn)
ws: 19-24mm (Goater); Jul-Aug; oak (Quercus spp); scarce resident and/or rare migrant to S & SE England
ID: Wing-base ranges from reddish to yellowish; prominent straight, transverse, white antemedian line; distal to which is a raised ridge of black and red scales, which does not reach the costa and does not quite reach the dorsum; postmedian line usually indistinct; variable suffusion of fuscous in distal half of wing which more or less obscures the discal dots. Similar to A.repandana, which does not have the raised ridge of scales.
