Male: Sacculus fused with "valvula", both poorly sclerotised; valva long and narrow; uncus developed, pointed. Aedegus with one long or two medium cornuti (I.straminata (Plain Wave) is highly anomolous). Hindfemur broad with long hairs and no spurs in most species.

Scopula (10S 1EX)
Male: Sclerotised sacculus separate from reduced "valvula"; uncus absent; socii well-developed; anellus sclerotised; saccus large; coremata present; S8 sternite sclerotised and with arms ("cerata") at its posterior corners. Hindfemur broad, with long hairs and no spurs.
Female: Signum present as a patch of 'pip'-like spines. Hindfemur 'normal', the proximal spur pair at 2/3-3/4.
