72.041 Lithosia quadra (Four-spotted Footman)
fw: m18-22mm f20-26mm; Jul-Sep; dog lichen (Peltigera spp) and other lichens and algae on trees and rocks; NS-A resident in SW.England and also occurs regularly and may be resident Hampshire, Dorset, Pembrokeshire - elsewhere it is a scarce migrant mainly to S.England.
ID: Larger than any other British footman. Male - forewing grey with a yellow base (concolorous with thorax) and a short blue-black basal streak on the costa. Female - yellow with two prominent grey spots, one on the costa at ~6/10, one near the dorsum at ~ 4/10.
