72.039 Pelosia muscerda (Dotted Footman)
fw: 13-16mm; Jul-Aug; probably algae and lichens; RDB - resident in Norfolk Broads and probable scarce migrant
ID: Forewing pale grey-brown with a postmedian diagonal row of 3 or 4 black dots from mid-costa towards the tornus and 2 antemedian black dots near the dorsum, the more dorsal of the pair being placed more proximally - this pattern of dots is diagnostic. P.obtusa (Small Dotted Footman) has a shorter forewing with (usually) 5 black dots arranged in a single angular cross-line.
