ws: 7-8mm; Jun-Jul (Aug-Sep); cowberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea); locally common on moorland in Wales, N.England and Scotland
ID: Group D - forewing markings white on a coloured background, C1D1 not forming a complete transverse fascia, thorax without a pale median line; basal streak extending beyond dorsal origin of D1 but not reaching apex of C1; apex of C1 opposite apex of D1; basal streak weakly edged and strigulae strongly edged black. Note also C3D3 form an almost unbroken fascia.
ID of §1 supported by examination of female genitalia in which the posterior margin of S8 is shallowly notched ventrally and has a rounded triangular projection dorsally.
