fw: 9-11mm; Jul-Aug, occasionally bivoltine Sep-Oct; unknown; NS-B in open moorland, conifer plantations and damp broad-leaved woodland in south coastal counties from Cornwall to Hampshire and the Surrey heaths, occasional elsewhere in S.England and Wales.
ID: White line, more or less parallel to termen in distal half of wing, lined proximally with black; central black mark separate from this line. Where S.costaestrigalis (Pinion-streaked Snout) shows both a white line and central black mark the line passes through or is connected to the black mark.
