ID: Form
subfulvata is easily identified by the large plain orange-brown forewing patch,
contrasting sharply with the grey-brown costa and termen. Form cognata is less
distinctive; it has strong white cross-lines and usually some hint of a tawny colour; its 'saddle' area is notably pale (whitish); it predominates in Scotland.
