49.022 Ptycholoma lecheana (Brindled Tortrix)
ws: 16-20mm (BTM), fw: 7-11mm (Sterling & Parsons); Jun-Jul; various deciduous trees; throughout GB but scarce in Scotland
ID: Basal/subbasal fasciae yellowish; strong fuscous costal fold in male; median and subterminal fasciae fuscous with sparse orange/ferruginous suffusion in male, orange-ferruginous in female; antemedian line metallic silver, variable in expression and extent, often obsolete dorsally; postmedian line metallic silver extending from costa to tornus with a subcostal spur extending towards the apex, variable in expressionand extent. Thorax metallic (?always); antenna dentate-ciliate in male, finely ciliate in female.
