63.080 Chrysoteuchia culmella (Garden Grass-moth)
ws: 20-24mm; Jun-Jul; various grasses; common throughout GB
ID: The angled subterminal line is constant. Pale specimens show a more oblique postmedian line which is obscured in specimens showing a streaky leaden grey suffusion (the veins remaining pale). Hindwing smoky. Both wings with golden metallic cilia.
Similar species: Agriphila straminella lacks crosslines. Pediasia contaminella has a narrower forewing and non-metallic cilia. Platytes cerusella is much smaller and its crosslines are notched near dorsum.
