49.242 Epinotia nanana (Small Spruce Tortrix)
ws: 9-11mm (BTM), fw: 4-5mm (Sterling & Parsons); Jun-Aug; Norway/sitka spruce (Picea abies/sitchensis); NS-B in coniferous and mixed woodland in England and Wales, very local in Scotland
ID: Forewing grey-brown with a variable expression of 3 or 4 darker brown narrow fasciae: subbasal, antemedian, postmedian and subterminal; black terminal line; 3 to 5 pairs of short white costal strigulae, these becoming less pronounced from apex to mid-costa; an often incomplete white curved stria from the most distal strigula to the termen. Male lacks a costal fold.
