49.146 Apotomis semifasciana (Short-barred Marble)
ws: 17-20mm (BMT, MBGBI5.2), fw: 8.0-9.5mm (Sterling & Parsons); Jul; sallows (Salix spp); NS-B throughout GB
ID: Forewing ground colour pale grey, irrorate whitish; markings darker, fuscous or grey-brown - subbasal and median fascia fairly well-marked in costal half, obsolescent dorsally; median fascia with a median blackish bar parallel with costa. A.lineana is similar but narrower-winged and shows a dark suffusion of the dorsum. A.infida is very similar but is confined to the Scottish Highlands - genital dissection is required to identify this species.
