ID: Forewing with conspicuous black central
spot; brownish-grey, darker at forewing base, costa and termen; wavy
cross-lines. E.virgaureata (Goldenrod Pug) has chequered veins and (usually)
fainter cross-lines but is otherwise similar. E.laricata (Larch Pug) has a
white thoracic spot. E.egenaria (Fletcher’s Pug) has a small black obliquely
elongate central spot and faint cross-lines.
