70.168 Eupithecia nanata (Narrow-winged Pug)
fw: 9-12mm; bivoltine Apr-Jun, Jul-Aug;
(heather); common on heath and moor throughout GB.
ID: Narrow elongate forewing with well-marked cross-lines; central spot present but not always conspicuous; white patch proximal to central spot; angulate dark and white cross-lines distal to central spot; may rest with forewing costae at ~90 deg to each other or at the ~180 deg typical of most pugs. Ground colour variable, typically whitish but brown in form oliveri.
