Apotomis capreana §2 male

ID: Similar to A.betuletana; distinguishing these two species can be achieved on the following features, those for A.betuletana given first: 1) posterior margin of median fascia fairly straight vs concave; 2) hook-like indentation near middle of posterior margin of median fascia weak vs strong; 3) black dots in subterminal fascia absent or weak vs stronger; 4) basal 2/3 more strongly marked with black vs less black. A.turbidana is similar but distinguished by its basal white costal markings. A.sororculana has a black apex.
Male genitalia: there do not seem to be any convincing differences between A.betuletana and A.capreana
Female genitalia: the posterior margin of the ostium is truncate in A.betuletana, pointed/produced posteriorly in A.capreana.
