fw: 52-60mm, ws 102-135mm; May-Nov (mainly Sep-Oct); potato and other Solanaceae; uncommon but annual migrant mainly to south and east coasts of England
ID: Huge with skull-like thoracic marking and yellow bands on abdomen and hindwing. Unmistakeable. Proboscis short, thick and ciliate. Antenna with an apical hook.
