ID: Forewing blackish with white costal dashes and indistinct metallic striae; whitish labial palps. Very similar to Strophedra species which lack the metallic striae. S.nitidana is smaller (WS:8-10mm); the costal dashes are relatively obscure in S.weirana..
Male genitalia: There are differences between the Strophedra species and P.germmana in the valval structure and aedeagus, but the most obvious difference is that the tegumen of Strophedra species is much more elongate.
