Synonym: Argyroploce antiquana (Pierce & Metcalfe)
ID: Somewhat similar to E.ericetana, which averages smaller (ws 14-20mm), has a darker ground colour with less distinct markings and a less angular apex. In the male genitalia E.quadrimaculana has much narrower valvae than E.ericetana. At the apex of the uncus E.quadrimaculana has a single row of 4 to 6 central spines, while E.ericetana has 3 irregular rows of spines.
